It seems like it was only yesterday that Dan and Kevin set up their table at the Codman Square Farmers Market to offer their meal kits to Dorchester families searching for healthy produce… Ok, maybe it doesn’t feel like yesterday, but I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since EatWell’s early days!
We have come a long way since then and learned even more! Now, our organization looks very different as we further our partnerships with healthcare organizations, enabling them to prescribe our meal kits to high-need patients (with no copays!). However, we regularly call upon the experiences, learnings, and connections from our farmers market days and ensure our foundational values of affordability, accessibility, and nutrition are at the forefront of our patient-centered work.
While our programs and partners have changed significantly over the years, our path has not. By staying true to our mission and the communities we serve, I am excited to announce EatWell has reached a milestone of more than 50,000 meals served! We could not have done this without all of the incredible supporters we worked along the way, and I want to extend a big “Thank You” to everyone who has helped us to reach this incredible goal!
